ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,404,250, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to Oregon Health & Science University (Portland, Ore.).

"PARP inhibitors for treating cancer and asthma" was invented by Michael Cohen (Portland, Ore.) and Ilsa Kirby (Portland, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are substituted 8-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one compounds useful as PARP inhibitors for the treatment of cancer and asthma, as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising them and methods for their synthesis."
