ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,278,418, issued on April 15, was assigned to OHB DIGITAL CONNECT GMBH (Bremen, Germany) and MAX-PLANCK-GESELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER WISSENSCHAFTEN E.V (Munich).

"Electro-mechanical linear drive unit for precise positioning e.g. of a large reflector used in radio astronomy or of a communication antenna" was invented by Martin Suss (Mainz, Germany), Thomas Zimmerer (Mainz, Germany) and Gundolf Wieching (Bonn, Germany).
