ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,499, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Novelis Inc. (Atlanta).

"Aluminum alloy products and a method of preparation" was invented by Michael Bull (Brighton, Mich.) and Rajeev G. Kamat (Marietta, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to aluminum alloy products that can be riveted and possess excellent ductility and toughness properties. The present invention also relates to a method of producing the aluminum alloy products. In particular, these products have application in the automotive industry."
