ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,528,886, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to Nano-Green Biorefineries Inc. (Saskatoon, Canada).

"Production of crystalline cellulose" was invented by Sean McAlpine (Edmonton, Canada) and Jory Nakoneshny (Edmonton, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of producing crystalline cellulose from a cellulosic material includes the step of reacting the cellulosic material in an aqueous slurry comprising a transition metal catalyst and a hypohalite solution."

The patent was filed on Oct. 13, 2021, under Application No. 17/450,805.
