ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,662, issued on July 29, was assigned to MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER (New York).

"Cell-based treatment and drug discovery in Hirschsprung's disease enabled by pluripotent stem cell-derived human enteric neural crest lineages" was invented by Lorenz Studer (New York) and Faranak Fattahi (New York).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The presently disclosed subject matter provides for in vitro methods of inducing differentiation of stem cells into enteric neural crest lineage cells, and enteric neural crest lineage cells by such methods.
