ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,729, issued on July 22, was assigned to MALAYSIAN PALM OIL BOARD (MPOB) (Selangor, Malaysia).

"Composition comprising oil palm phenolics for use in the treatment and prevention of colon diseases and for promoting and maintaining gut and general health" was invented by Syed Fairus Syed Abu Bakar (Kajang, Malaysia), Ravigadevi Sambanthamurthi (Kajang, Malaysia), Yew Ai Tan (Kajang, Malaysia) and Mahinda Abeywardena (Kajang, Malaysia).
