ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,016, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Lafayette College (Easton, Pa.).
"Degradation of sporopollenin" was invented by Anna F. Edlund (Easton, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composition comprised of a peroxidase, a catalase, and a peroxide that, in combination, is suitable for degradation of pollen wall sporopollenin, and coatings comprising sporopollenin in a matrix that can be selectively degraded through application of a peroxidase, a catalase, and a peroxide to the sporopollenin matrix."
The patent was filed on Jan. 12, 2021, under Application No. 17/248,157.
