ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,314, issued on June 17, was assigned to Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie Van Wetenschappen (Utrecht, Netherlands).
"Culture method for organoids" was invented by Meritxell Huch Ortega (Utrecht, Netherlands), Johannes Carolus Clevers (Utrecht, Netherlands) and Sylvia Fernandez Boj (Utrecht, Netherlands).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to improved culture methods for expanding epithelial stem cells and obtaining organoids, to culture media involved in said methods, and to uses of said organoids."
