According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Tetracoordinate organoborate compounds, such as compounds harboring a tetraarylborate anion or a triarylalkylborate anion, are shown to exhibit a selective bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect against pathogenic Neisseria species such as N. meningitidis N and N. gonorrhoeae.
