ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,317,397, issued on May 27, was assigned to Inductotherm Corp. (Rancocas, N.J.).

"Method of cooling electric induction melting and holding furnaces for reactive metals and alloys" was invented by Satyen N. Prabhu (Voorhees, N.J.), Joseph T. Belsh (Spring Hill, Tenn.) and Peter Aruanno (Hammonton, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of cooling an electric induction furnace for melting and holding a reactive metal or alloy is provided where the electric induction furnace has an upper furnace vessel and an induction coil in a modular inductor furnace is positioned below the upper furnace vessel with a melt-containing vessel position...
