US Patent Issued to ILIAD Biotechnologies on June 24 for "Treatment and prevention of neuropathology associated with neurodegenerative diseases" (American, Irish Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,337,018, issued on June 24, was assigned to ILIAD Biotechnologies LLC (Weston, Fla.).

"Treatment and prevention of neuropathology associated with neurodegenerative diseases" was invented by Keith Rubin (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Steven Glazer (Weston, Conn.), Marina Lynch (Dublin) and Kingston Mills (Dublin).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Administering a live, attenuated Bordetella pertussis-based vaccine to a subject at risk for developing a neurodegenerative disease featuring ABeta brain plaques can prevent or reduce the amount of ABeta brain plaques that would have developed in the subject without such treatment."
