ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,326,619, issued on June 10, was assigned to HOYA OPTICAL LABS OF AMERICA INC. (Lewisville, Texas).
"UV and high energy visible absorbing ophthalmic lenses" was invented by Steven Harold Nahm (Ramsey, Minn.), Richard Blacker (Ramsey, Minn.), David Kissel (Ramsey, Minn.) and David Olund (Ramsey, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ophthalmic lens operable to protect the eye from harmful ultraviolet and high energy visible wavelengths of light and methods for producing the same."
The patent was filed on Feb. 9, 2024, under Application No. 18/438,288.
