ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,767, issued on April 15, was assigned to HOWARD HUGHES MEDICAL INSTITUTE (Chevy Chase, Md.).

"Chemigenetic calcium indicators" was invented by Eric R. Schreiter (Leesburg, Va.), Luke D. Lavis (Ashburn, Va.), Claire Deo (Heidelberg, Germany), Hersh Bhargava (San Francisco) and Ahmed Abdelfattah (Barrington, R.I.).
