ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,854, issued on July 22, was assigned to Henkel AG & Co. KGaA (Duesseldorf, Germany).
"Transfer of encapsulated fragrance to fabrics in dryer cycle by means of wool ball" was invented by Anna Larracuente (Newtown, Conn.) and Maxime Pelletier (Rindge, N.H.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An absorbent substrate such as a wool dryer ball is imbued with a fragrance or treatment composition. The fragrance or treatment composition comprises an aqueous carrier, free fragrance, and encapsulated fragrance. The composition includes about 0.1 wt. % to about 5 wt. % free fragrance and about 0.1 wt. % to about 10 wt. % encapsulated fragrance."
