ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,965, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to GIVAUDAN SA (Vernier, Switzerland).

"Conversion of farnesylacetone to homofarnesylacetate by baeyer-villiger monooxygenase" was invented by Eric Eichhorn (Zurich, Switzerland) and Andreas Goeke (Duebendorf, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An enzyme-mediated method for the production of acetates as defined by formula (I), the products of said method, and uses of said products."

The patent was filed on June 30, 2021, under Application No. 17/998,540.
