ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,285,804, issued on April 29, was assigned to GE Infrastructure Technology LLC (Greenville, S.C.), UT Battelle LLC (Oak Ridge, Tenn.), West Virginia University Board of Governors on Behalf of West Virginia University (Morgantown, W.va.) and Carpenter Technology Corp. (Philadelphia).

"Method to produce an additively manufactured, graded composite transition joint" was invented by Xingbo Liu (Morgantown, W.va.), Zhili Feng (Knoxville, Tenn.), Yanli Wang (Knoxville, Tenn.), David Novotnak (Mcdonald, Pa.) and Haiyang Qian (Avon, Conn.).
