ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,079, issued on May 13, was assigned to Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. (Waltham, Mass.).

"Preserving sorbent devices in dialysis systems" was invented by David Yuds (Hudson, N.H.), Rachel Bartels (Somerville, Mass.) and Karsten Fischer (Waltham, Mass.).
