ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,382,549, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. (Munich).

"SUDAS, URU and base station" was invented by Robert Schober (Dietenhofen, Germany), Marco Breiling (Erlangen, Germany) and Aravindh Krishnamoorthy (Erlangen, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A SUDAS has at least one URU, wherein the at least one URU is configured for relaying a signal between at least one base station and at least one user equipment by communicating with the at least one user equipment in a first frequency range and with at least one base station in a second frequency range.
