ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,408,685, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Evonik Operations GmbH (Essen, Germany), Bord of Regents of the University of Nebraska (Lincoln, Neb.) and DSM IP Assets B.V. (Heerlen, Netherlands).
"Animal feed for improving the growth performance" was invented by Galen Erickson (Lincoln, Neb.), Mitch Norman (Ashland, Neb.), Christian Rabe (Grossostheim, Germany), Andrea Watson (Ceresco, Neb.) and Jonathan Wesley Wilson (Blacksburg, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Condensed algal residue solubles turned out to be a beneficial feed ingredient for feeding animals, in particular for improving the growth performance of beef cattle."
