ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,234,224, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to EPIGEN Biosciences Inc. (San Diego).

"Pyrimidine and pyridine amine compounds and usage thereof in disease treatment" was invented by Graham Beaton (Vista, Calif.), Fabio Tucci (San Diego), Satheesh Ravula (San Diego), Suk Joong Lee (San Diego) and Chandravadan Shah (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Pyrimidine and Pyridine containing compounds are described herein that are enzyme p70S6K inhibitors useful in the treatment of S6K-dependent or S6K-mediated diseases and conditions, including but not limited to cancer, fibrotic metabolic and certain neurological disorders."
