US Patent Issued to Ecofibre USA, The University of Newcastle on Oct. 14 for "Methods of treating ovarian cancer with hemp extract" (American, Australian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,528, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Ecofibre USA Inc. (Georgetown, Ky.) and The University of Newcastle (Callaghan, Australia).

"Methods of treating ovarian cancer with hemp extract" was invented by Alexandra M. Capano (Philadelphia), Pradeep Singh Tanwar (Fletcher, Australia) and Alex Nance (Georgetown, Ky.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for treating ovarian cancer comprising: administering to a patient and effective amount of a cannabis extract comprising CBD wherein preferably the cannabis extract is administered via a mucosal formulation."
