US Patent Issued to Ecofibre USA, The University of Newcastle on March 18 for "Methods of treating endometrial cancer using hemp extract" (American, Australian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,411, issued on March 18, was assigned to Ecofibre USA Inc. (Georgetown, Ky.) and The University of Newcastle (Callaghan, Australia).

"Methods of treating endometrial cancer using hemp extract" was invented by Alexandra M. Capano (Philadelphia), Pradeep Singh Tanwar (Fletcher, Australia) and Alex Nance (Georgetown, Ky.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for treating endometrial cancer comprising: administering to a patient a cannabis extract (CE) wherein the cannabis extract comprises cannabidiol (CBD) at between 50% and 99% by weight of the CE."

The patent was filed on Sept. 15, 2023, under Application No. 18/467,953.
