ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,351,654, issued on July 8, was assigned to Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, Tenn.).
"Polymers, articles, and chemicals made from high concentrated recycle derived syngas" was invented by William Lewis Trapp (Kingsport, Tenn.), Justin William Murphy (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Nathan Mitchell West (Kingsport, Tenn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "High concentrations of recycle polymer are gasified in a partial oxidation gasifier to make a syngas useful to make a variety of chemicals and polymers, such as cellulose ester. Polymers such as cellulose esters can be made that are obtained from sustainable sources, recycle sources, and are biodegradab...
