ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,358,902, issued on July 15, was assigned to Denovamed Inc. (Toronto).
"5-(2,5-bis(4-chloro-2-isopropylphenyl)thiophen-3-yl)-1H-tetrazole for the topical treatment of bacterial infections" was invented by Fan Wu (Toronto), Christopher R. McMaster (Toronto) and Donald F. Weaver (Toronto).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A compound 5-(2,5-bis(4-chloro-2-isopropylphenyl)thiophen-3-yl)-1H-tetrazole, methods for the manufacture of said compound, topical compositions comprising said compound and methods of use thereof in the topical treatment of infections caused by pathogenic bacteria at a wound site."
