ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,156, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to CORNING Inc. (Corning, N.Y.).

"Salt bath compositions for strengthening glass articles, methods for using the salt bath compositions to strengthen glass articles, and glass articles strengthened thereby" was invented by Sinue Gomez-Mower (Corning, N.Y.), Yuhui Jin (Painted Post, N.Y.), Aize Li (Painted Post, N.Y.), Kelly Ann Murphy (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Carlton Maurice Truesdale (Conyers, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The methods generally include contacting an alkali-containing glass article having a first alkali metal cation with a molten salt bath including from 0.1 wt. % to 3 wt. % nan...
