ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,393, issued on April 22, was assigned to Columbia Insurance Co. (Omaha, Neb.).
"Porous fabric or sleeve covering for paint roller cover" was invented by Glen Cooper (East Hanover, N.J.), Gary Dandreaux (River Edge, N.J.), William Somers (Randolph, N.J.), Rita Desai (Parsippany, N.J.), Stefanie Iannacone (Sparta, N.J.), Clarena Shavel (East Stroudsburg, Del.) and Dimitri Zafiroglu (Centreville, Del.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A thin highly-open fabric or sleeve is placed over a paint roller cover, allowing the flow of paint in and out of the roller cover and smoother paint films."
