ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,724, issued on July 22, was assigned to City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.).

"Oncolytic virus expressing a car T cell target and uses thereof" was invented by Yuman Fong (Duarte, Calif.), Saul J. Priceman (Duarte, Calif.), Stephen J. Forman (Duarte, Calif.), Nanhai Chen (Duarte, Calif.) and Anthony K. Park (Duarte, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An oncolytic poxvirus encoding a truncated human CD19 is used in conjunction with a chimeric antigen receptor to treat solid tumors."

The patent was filed on Aug. 10, 2018, under Application No. 16/637,909.
