ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,281,151, issued on April 22, was assigned to City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.).

"CD6 targeted chimeric antigen receptors for treatment of certain autoimmune disorders" was invented by Jose Enrique Montero Casemiro (Duarte, Calif.), Bart Otto Roep (Duarte, Calif.) and Christine E. Brown (Duarte, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are, inter alia, CD6 targeting CAR-T cell compositions and methods useful for treating autoimmune diseases (e.g., Type I diabetes)."

The patent was filed on July 1, 2019, under Application No. 17/256,788.
