ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,360,103, issued on July 15, was assigned to Children's Hospital Medical Center (Cincinnati).

"Blood biomarker for eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders" was invented by Marc E. Rothenberg (Cincinnati), Ting Wen (Cincinnati) and Yrina Rochman (Cincinnati).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure provides a simple and rapid blood-based bioassay useful in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, and related compositions and methods."

The patent was filed on April 18, 2019, under Application No. 15/733,755.
