US Patent Issued to Children's Hospital Medical Center on April 1 for "Self-expandable surgical implant for correcton of congenital diaphragmatic hernia" (Colombian, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,263,075, issued on April 1, was assigned to Children's Hospital Medical Center (Cincinnati).

"Self-expandable surgical implant for correcton of congenital diaphragmatic hernia" was invented by Jose Peiro Ibanez (Cincinnati) and Cristobal Abello Munarriz (Barranquilla, Colombia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A self-expandable double-sided surgical implant including a peripheral pocket receiving an expansion ring. The surgical implant may be used for the correction of congenital diaphragmatic hernias."
