ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,326, issued on July 8, was assigned to CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY (Cleveland) and TRUSTEES OF DARTMOUTH COLLEGE (Hanover, N.H.).
"Cancer immunotherapy using virus particles" was invented by Nicole F. Steinmetz (San Diego), Amy M. Wen (Cleveland), Steven Fiering (Hanover, N.H.) and Patrick H. Lizotte (Hanover, N.H.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof includes administering in situ to the cancer a therapeutically effective amount of a virus or virus-like particle."
The patent was filed on Aug. 22, 2023, under Application No. 18/236,676.
