ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,236,301, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to Capital One Services LLC (McLean, Va.).

"Systems and methods to generate power for a contactless card via a piezoelectric component" was invented by Bryant Yee (Washington), Kevin Osborn (Newton Highlands, Mass.) and Tyler Maiman (Melville, N.Y.).
