ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,123, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to CAMERON INTERNATIONAL Corp. (Houston).
"Sulfonyl azide composition for sulfur scavenging in oilfield operations" was invented by Rolando Perez Pineiro (Nisku, Canada), Alyn Jenkins (Aberdeen, Great Britain), Jody Hoshowski (Nisku, Canada) and Adnan Alhammoud (Nisku, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods described herein use benzene sulfonyl azide molecules as scavengers of sulfur species, including H2S, mercaptans, or both in industrial processes such as hydrocarbon production."
