ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,029, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, Calif.).

"Engineered synthase for production of tryptophan derivatives and intransigent substrates" was invented by David K. Romney (Pasadena, Calif.), Javier Murciano Calles (Ubeda Jaen, Spain) and Jori E. Wehrmuller (Hohenrain, Switzerland).
