ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. PP36,707, issued on May 27, was assigned to California Berry Cultivars LLC (French Camp, Calif.).
"Strawberry plant named 'CBC017'" was invented by Kyle M VandenLangenberg (Tracy, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of strawberry plant (Fragaria x ananassa) named 'CBC017' is presented here. This new day-neutral strawberry cultivar is characterized by moderate vigor plants which produce exceptionally large yields of attractive conical to round fruit. In addition, plants of 'CBC017' are resistant to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp fragariae."
