ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,627, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA (Lincoln, Neb.).

"Antimicrobial scaffolds" was invented by Bin Duan (Omaha, Neb.), Mitchell Kuss (Omaha, Neb.), Tammy Kielian (LaVista, Neb.), Amy Aldrich (Omaha, Neb.) and Wen Shi (Pappillion, Neb.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Three-dimensional printed antibiotic scaffolds are provided as well as methods of use thereof and methods of making."

The patent was filed on March 6, 2020, under Application No. 17/431,049.
