US Patent Issued to BioCryst Pharmaceuticals on July 1 for "Crystalline salts of a plasma kallikrein inhibitor" (Alabama Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,344,585, issued on July 1, was assigned to BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Durham, N.C.).

"Crystalline salts of a plasma kallikrein inhibitor" was invented by Yahya El-Kattan (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) and Yarlagadda S. Babu (Birmingham, Ala.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are crystalline salts of Compound I, methods of preparing them, and related pharmaceutical preparations thereof. Also disclosed are methods of treatment using the crystalline salts of the invention."

The patent was filed on March 10, 2023, under Application No. 18/120,073.
