ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,248,314, issued on March 11, was assigned to Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Munich).

"Activating an automated parking maneuver by way of an activation movement carried out by a mobile communications device" was invented by Sophie Boehm (Munich), Rolf Brenndoerfer (Wolfratshausen, Germany), Patrick Heinrich (Manching, Germany), Yordan Mihaylov (Munich), Jordi Sabater (Oberschleissheim, Germany), Konstantin Zhukov (Unterschleissheim, Germany) and Andreas Von Eichhorn (Munich).
