ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,472, issued on March 18, was assigned to BAR-ILAN UNIVERSITY (Ramat Gan, Israel), UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA (Geneva) and GENEVA UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS (Geneva).

"Barbituric acid derivatives, their preparation and use thereof as leukocyte transmigration inhibitors and for treating inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases and cancer" was invented by Arie Lev Gruzman (Tzur Hadassah, Israel), Paul Bradfield (Geneva), Tamar Getter (Ashkelon, Israel), Beat Imhof (Conches, Switzerland), Thomas Matthes (Onex, Switzerland) and Hanoch Senderowitz (Tel Aviv, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are novel barbituric acid derivatives...
