ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,429, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to AUCKLAND UNISERVICES Ltd. (Auckland, New Zealand).
"Inductive power transfer system and method" was invented by Grant Anthony Covic (Mount Albert, New Zealand) and John Talbot Boys (Takapuna, New Zealand).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Foreign object detection apparatus for an IPT system, includes a control means adapted to detect the presence of a foreign object on or adjacent to an IPT primary pad of the system."
The patent was filed on Dec. 18, 2012, under Application No. 14/365,873.
