ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,422,662, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS ON BEHALF OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA (Tucson, Ariz.).
"Versatile space telescope" was invented by Ewan Douglas (Tucson, Ariz.) and Dae Wook Kim (Tucson, Ariz.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A versatile space telescope for quantum key distribution and adapted for interfacing with a spacecraft and an instrument module. The telescope includes diamond turned aluminum mirrors at its entrance and exit, adjacent the spacecraft and instrument module, respectively."
The patent was filed on Aug. 2, 2022, under Application No. 17/879,374.
