US Patent Issued to Arizona Board of Regents on Behalf of the University of Arizona on Aug. 5 for "Smartphone-based multispectral dermascope" (Washington, Arizona Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,376,786, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Arizona Board of Regents on Behalf of the University of Arizona (Tucson, Ariz.).

"Smartphone-based multispectral dermascope" was invented by Ross Uthoff (Seattle) and Rongguang Liang (Tucson, Ariz.).

An example dermascope includes light sources having different spectral contents and configured to illuminate an area of the skin and at least one imaging sensor configured to collect light that it receives from the area of the skin.
