ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,338,459, issued on June 24, was assigned to ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (Scottsdale, Ariz.).

"DNA-chimeric antigen receptor T cells for immunotherapy" was invented by Hao Yan (Chandler, Ariz.) and Bo Ning (Tempe, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In certain embodiments, this disclosure provides methods to generate DNA, RNA and/or DNA-peptide nanostructures based chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell (engineered T cell) for cancer immunotherapy, and compositions made by these methods."

The patent was filed on Feb. 4, 2019, under Application No. 16/966,264.
