ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,305,233, issued on May 20, was assigned to Arizona Board of Regents on Behalf of Arizona (Scottsdale, Ariz.).

"Ultra-high-throughput assay for telomerase repeat addition processivity" was invented by Julian Chen (Chandler, Ariz.) and Yang Li (Chandler, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides methods and kits for determining telomerase processivity. These methods and kits may be used to screen for drugs that inhibit or enhance telomerase repeat addition activity, and are readily adapted to an ultra-high-throughput format."

The patent was filed on July 9, 2021, under Application No. 17/372,255.
