ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. PP37,079, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to Altman Specialty Plants Inc (Vista, Calif.).

"Climbing rose plant named 'ALTenglanda'" was invented by Peter Lim (Escondido, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Rose plant named 'ALTenglanda' is disclosed, characterized by distinctive fully double flowers rich apricot flowers with an average of 50 to 60 petals. The new cultivar is a vigorous upright shrub rose with continuous repeat flowering after the second year of planting. Plants have dark, foliage resistant to black spot and powdery mildew disease.
