ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,330,811, issued on June 17, was assigned to AeroVironment Inc. (Arlington, Va.).
"Pod operating system for a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)" was invented by Christopher Eugene Fisher (Leo, Ind.), Jason Sidharthadev Mukherjee (Simi Valley, Calif.) and William Arden Lott (Simi Valley, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) storage and launch system includes a UAV pod having a UAV pod processor and a UAV selectively enclosed in the UAV pod, the UAV having only two rotors."
