ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,257,333, issued on March 25, was assigned to AdvanSix Resins & Chemicals LLC (Parsippany, N.J.).

"Branched amino acid surfactants for personal care and cosmetic products" was invented by Edward Asirvatham (Chatham, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Personal care products, such as shampoos, conditioners, hair dyes, hair removal products, cleansers, cosmetics, mascaras, and toothpastes may be formulated to include one or more branched surfactants, from one or more surfactant classes, such as derivatives of amino acids that have surface-active properties."

The patent was filed on July 9, 2021, under Application No. 17/372,373.
