"Copper microbicidal filter" was invented by Carlo Kristian Chu Carredo (Fullerton, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention generally relates to an air filter, and in particular, the present invention relates to an air filter with a porous copper layer, having natural antimicrobial property, for improving the quality of air breathed in by people."
The patent was filed on Feb. 2, 2021, under Application No. 17/165,885.
