ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,283,685, issued on April 22.
"Utilization of electric arc furnace flue dust emerging from steel industry (during the production of ferro alloys and steel from scraps) as electrode material in energy applications" was invented by Billur Deniz Karahan (Istanbul).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is the use of electric arc furnace flue dust and materials that are recovered from the flue dust of electric arc furnaces (EAF) used in the production of ferroalloys or steel from scrap metals, as electrode materials in electrochemical applications such as energy storage."
