Today, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) reintroduced legislation to permanently authorize the funding for the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program (DC OSP), D.C. Public Charter Schools, and D.C. Public Schools. Senator Johnson has long championed school choice in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Since the beginning of his chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the committee of jurisdiction for the District of Columbia, Senator Johnson led reauthorizations of this vital program for disadvantaged D.C. students.
